New Year's Eve in Dubai: which penthouses see the fireworks

For the Burj Khalifa fireworks, stay in Downtown Dubai or Business Bay on a high floor facing the tower. For fireworks over the sea, stay on Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai Marina or at JBR. Book early: big apartments with a direct view are usually the first to go for 31 December.

Burj Khalifa: Downtown and Business Bay

The main show is launched from Burj Khalifa itself. Apartments in Downtown, including the Opera District, and the towers along the Business Bay canal that face the Burj have the clearest views. Roads around Downtown close in the afternoon, so plan to be inside by early evening.

Across the water: Dubai Creek Harbour

From Dubai Creek Harbour you see the Burj Khalifa show across the creek with the whole Downtown skyline, away from the crowds.

Over the sea: the Palm, the Marina and JBR

Fireworks are also set off along the coast, including around the Palm and the beachfront. Penthouses on the Palm crescent, the Marina and JBR face the water.

Booking tips

Look for a listing that names the view ("Burj view", "fountain view", "sea view") and check the photos taken from the balcony. Expect minimum stays over New Year, and choose a free-cancellation rate if you can.
